Making Your Swimming Pool Dreams Come True for Over 30 Years!

HDT Pools is Troy Haney, someone who has worked with concrete for literally almost his entire life. Starting as far back as 11 years old, Troy can remember placing concrete at Mason St. Trolley Terminal in San Francisco. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Troy’s family moved to Idaho during his high school years, and he graduated from Emmett High School in 1979. He attended Boise State University and graduated Suma Cum Laude in water and waste water technology, and began a career at Micron in 1984. With a passion for pool-building, Troy also worked as a sub-contractor in Boise serving local pool builders. During his eight years at Micron and sub-contracting, Troy’s duties included water purification, reverse osmosis, deionization through ion exchange, electrical work and plumbing, including PVC piping and Teflon fusion.

Troy was invited back to Micron as a contractor after two years of pursuing his concrete and pool building interests to provide services for the Idaho power site sub station, BOC gases nitrogen plant, and the highway-rated service tunnels that delivered utilities throughout the plant.

Since the early 80s, Troy has been committed to excellence and providing quality in everything he creates. He ensures the value of the pool for his client, as well as the future owner. He doesn’t want to build every pool, only the handful that deserve the attention to detail he delivers. In fact, HDT builds a limited number of pools each year to ensure that quality, HDT’s top priority, is top-of-mind. His hard-working nature and “old school” philosophies mean clients experience a one-on-one relationship with Troy, from the sales process through the building process, something everyone should want from the person building their backyard dream.
